About Paul Ross
Photography has been a life long passion and hobby that passed through several phases beginning with street photography when I was in my teens. I obviously started in the world of film and chemistry, and gradually came into the world of digital imaging. Automation and digital imaging opened a whole new creative dimension for me. I no longer had to pay close attention to technical issues like focusing and setting exposure and so I could now put my full attention on the subject and my perception of it and how I wanted it rendered. We've been spending a week or two on Monhegan for the past 20 years. One of my favorite places to shoot. I really loved your cliff shot. congratulations. georgia

Thank you for your kind words. It seem you know the Island. Actually the picture was taken some years ago when we spent a few weeks on the island. As for the seagull, well, he/she was just standing there and I thought I would include it in the photograph. Paul

Paul, great shot of Monhegan coast. You had to be in a pretty precarious spot to take this shot. Loved that it was in black and white as well. more dramatic. How did you get the gull to sit still and in just a surprising touch. You showed the fury of the sea the way that the famous artists Rockwell Kent, Samuel Triscott, the members of Rober Henri's summer classes spent happy days shooting for. I think we could photograph on Monhegan forever (except for the rough ferry ride come winter). cheers, georgia sheron
